ZAHN UK Management Ltd  ·  Last updated 20 October 2026  ·  For ZAHN users aged 13 to 17

If you are ever in danger, call 999, or your local emergency number outside the UK. ZAHN is not an emergency service and nobody watches the app for emergencies. If something online or offline worries you, talk to a parent, guardian, teacher or another adult you trust. You can also contact Childline free on 0800 1111 or at childline.org.uk.

About this notice

This notice is for you if you are 13 to 17 and use ZAHN. It explains, as simply as we can, what information we collect about you, why, who can see it, and what you can do about it. Our full Privacy Policy has more detail.

ZAHN UK Management Ltd runs ZAHN. We are the "data controller", which means we are responsible for looking after your information and following the law. You can contact us, or our Data Protection Officer, at legal@zahnapp.com.

Who can use ZAHN

  • You must be 13 or over.
  • If you are 13, 14 or 15, you must tell a parent or guardian that you use ZAHN. We recommend that everyone under 18 sets up the app with a parent, guardian or trusted adult.
  • We ask for your date of birth when you sign up. Please give your real one, because ZAHN is only for people aged 13 and over. If we find out that someone is under 13, we close their account and delete their information.

What information we collect

  • About you: your phone number, name, username and date of birth. If you choose to add them: your email address, a profile photo and your home address.
  • Your location: if you say yes, ZAHN uses your phone's exact location, even when the app is closed. This is how your Bubble sees where you are and knows when you reach a Spot like Home or School.
  • Your places and history: your Spots, the places you visited in the last 7 days, and journeys you share.
  • What you do in ZAHN: your Bubbles, check-ins, reports (including any photos) and votes.
  • Your voice, if you choose to report by voice: your phone turns your words into text. We use that text to suggest a category, and then we do not keep it. We never keep a recording of your voice.
  • Your phone: things like the model, battery level and app version, and crash reports so we can fix problems.

Why we use it

  • To make ZAHN work for you, like sharing your location with your Bubble.
  • To keep you and others safe, for example by checking ages, stopping misuse and removing harmful content.
  • To fix bugs and make ZAHN better.
  • To follow the law.

We never sell your information. We never use your location for adverts.

Who can see your information

  • Your Bubbles: only people you have added to a Bubble can see your live location, your battery, your Spots that you share with them, your last 7 days of places, and your journeys. Only add people you know and trust in real life.
  • Everyone on ZAHN: can see the reports you post. If you post a report under your username, they can see your username and profile photo with it. If you post anonymously, other users cannot see it was you, but ZAHN can still see who posted it. Only your Bubbles can see your profile photo otherwise.
  • Companies that help us run ZAHN: for example our cloud hosting, maps and text message providers. They must keep your information safe and only use it to help us.
  • The police or other authorities: only if the law says we must, or if we think someone is in serious danger, including you.

ZAHN does not give parents tools to secretly watch you. If you choose to add a parent to your Bubble, they can see what any Bubble member can see, and, by December 2026, a clear sign will show on screen whenever your location is shared, so you will always know.

Settings that protect you Key

Because you are under 18, we are adding extra protections by December 2026:

  • your location will not be shared with anyone until you choose to share it with a Bubble;
  • you will always see a clear sign on screen when your location is being shared;
  • nobody will be able to add you to a Bubble without your say: you will accept or decline every invitation;
  • our team checks missing person reports about children before they appear;
  • you can choose to post reports anonymously;
  • there is no chat in ZAHN, so people who are not in your Bubbles cannot message you;

You can pause sharing at any time with Ghost mode, for one Bubble or for all of them.

Reporting incidents safely

  • Never report from your home, school or anywhere that could show where you live. You can move the pin.
  • Never name or describe a person in a report.
  • If you see something that worries you, tell a trusted adult. A ZAHN report is not a report to the police.
  • If you are in danger, call 999 (or your local emergency number outside the UK). For non-emergencies in the UK, call 101.

How long we keep your information

We only keep information for as long as we need it. By December 2026, your location history will be deleted after 30 days. Reports disappear from the map after up to 7 days. If you delete your account, we delete your information after 30 days, apart from things we must keep for safety or legal reasons. Our Privacy Policy has the details.

Your rights Key

You have rights over your information. You can use them yourself; you do not need a parent's permission. You can:

  • ask for a copy of your information;
  • ask us to fix anything that is wrong;
  • ask us to delete your information;
  • ask us to stop using it in certain ways;
  • change your mind about things you agreed to, like location sharing.

Email legal@zahnapp.com. A parent or guardian can help you, or ask on your behalf if you want them to.
