Hotspot map

See where crime clusters, before you travel.

The ZAHN map shows real area data as colour-coded hotspots across the UK. The bigger and more intense the colour, the higher the concentration of crime.

  • Red: serious or frequent crime, or a high concentration
  • Amber: moderate activity, stay alert

How it works

Score before you step out the door.

Four steps. Real data. A clear view of how safe a route is before you take it.

  1. Enter your destination

Plan any route in ZAHN as normal: walking, cycling or public transport.

  2. Your score is calculated

ZAHN analyses police crime data along every route, using a rolling three-month window.

  3. Compare your options

Routes are ranked by safety alongside speed. The fastest route isn't always the safest.

  4. Travel with clarity

Your score updates monthly as new police data is published.

Disclaimer: Safety Scores combine several factors. One of these is official UK police crime data, which is updated monthly as new reports are published. Scores are a guide and should be used alongside your own judgement.
