She built the app
she wished existed.
This is why.
Lily-Ella Mackie — Founder, ZAHN.
Built in the UK. Built for everyone.
1 in 2
women feel unsafe at night in the UK
When Lily-Ella read that statistic, she wasn't surprised. She was angry. It confirmed what she — and millions of women — already knew from experience. So she built something about it.
The idea
Safety shouldn't depend on who you are or where you live.
ZAHN was born from a simple belief — that existing tools weren't built for real people making real journeys. They were afterthoughts. Bolted on. Not built around the problem. So we started from scratch, with one purpose: getting people from A to B without the fear.
Built from lived experience
Not a boardroom idea. A response to something real, felt by real people.
Safety as a right, not a privilege
Regardless of where you live, your age, gender, or background.
Built for every journey
Walking home, commuting, travelling alone — ZAHN is there for all of it.
I didn't build ZAHN because I saw a gap in the market. I built it because I was tired of feeling unsafe — and tired of being told that was just how it is.
Lily-Ella Mackie — Founder, ZAHNWe're not just building an app.
We're building a safer world.
ZAHN is a promise. A promise to stand at the forefront of change — to make the world a safer, more connected place, one journey at a time.
