Sometimes things don't go quite to plan — and that's okay. Find fixes for the most common issues below, or get straight to our team if you need more help.
Common issues
A few quick checks usually solve this:
- Make sure location permissions are set to Always for ZAHN
- Check that Precise Location (iPhone) is turned on in Settings
- Ensure you have a stable internet connection
- Open ZAHN briefly to refresh your map
Still stuck? Try restarting your phone — it resets your GPS running in the background.
A Bubble member's location may freeze or appear outdated. This usually means:
- Their phone is on Low Power Mode
- Their location permission is set to While Using the App only
- They're in an area with poor signal
- Their device hasn't moved enough to trigger an update
Tip: You can send them a Check-In if you're worried — it's a gentle nudge, not an alarm.
Notifications are a key part of staying connected. Try these steps:
- Make sure notifications are enabled for ZAHN in your phone settings
- Check you haven't muted a Bubble or Spot
- Disable Low Power Mode if it's active
- Ensure Background App Refresh is turned on (iPhone: Settings → ZAHN)
A few things help instantly:
- Close and reopen the app
- Clear some device storage if it's nearly full
- Make sure you're running the latest version of ZAHN
- Restart your phone
Still slow? Send us a message — persistent slow performance usually means we need to investigate on our side.
This usually means one of the following:
- Your internet connection dropped during the attempt
- The person you're inviting may have changed their number
- ZAHN doesn't have permission to access your contacts
- You're using a VPN — this can cause unexpected behaviour
Try again with a stable connection. If the issue persists, reach out and we'll take a look.
Very rarely, your phone may hold onto old permissions. Try these fixes:
- Open the app and tap the Ghost icon again to toggle it off
- Restart your phone
- Ensure Background App Refresh and Activity Controls are enabled
Good to know: Your location won't be shared with anyone until you choose to turn Ghost Mode off — so you're always in control.
